Wende’s work encompasses both Oil and Pastel. She is a Master Pastelist with the Pastel Society of America where she has won numerous awards including the Gold Medal - Art Spirit Foundation in 2018 and 2019. In November, 2019, Wende was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award along with her husband, Daniel E. Greene N.A., from the Figurative Art Convention (FACE) hosted by Eric Rhoads and Peter Trippi. She has been included in exhibitions at the Butler Institute of American Art through the Portrait Society of America’s Inspiring Figures exhibition, the Pastel Society of America, and the Butler National Mid-Year Show.  Her work has been shown in group exhibitions nationwide. Wende is an exhibiting member of Allied Artists, Audubon Artists, Hudson Valley Art Association, Pastel Society of America and the Salmagundi Club where she has garnered additional awards for her work in oil and pastel. Wende is a board member for the Portrait Society of America, the Artists Fellowship, and Hudson Valley Art Association. She continues to teach in Westchester County, NY,  in private workshops and on Zoom.  Wende is the author of “Painting Children’s Portraits in Pastel” and has produced two instructional videos “Painting from Life” and “Children’s Portraits in Pastel.

Mondays from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. EST       

Artists will work from their own reference material in their studios. Classes are limited in size to enable personal instruction. You can choose to work with oil or pastel as I am happy to instruct in either medium. Classes resume each month and are billed monthly by email. If you are unable to attend every week, you can select the weeks you are available (please identify which dates) and only pay for those sessions.  For anyone who has never attended my Zoom class, you will be my guest for your first session to insure the format is acceptable for your purposes. Please feel free to share this information with anyone you feel might be interested in studying portraiture.    

Acceptable forms of payment are Venmo, Zelle, or personal check made out to “Wende Caporale-Greene.”

I have again arranged to host a 4 1/2 day Portraiture workshop in June at the Mariandale Center in Ossining, NY, a beautiful retreat on the Hudson River in Westchester County. 

The workshop will begin with a 3-hour demonstration on Sunday evening working from a model while describing my process. The remainder of the workshop, Monday - Thursday, will be an intense period of study with a choice of two different models.     
 
Students will be located in a room which has kitchen facilities and an outdoor area with picnic tables for lunch and breaks with views of the beautiful Hudson River. Limited to 14 students. 
  
 Tuition is $900.00    
 a non-refundable $300.00
